잉그리드 버그만이 나오는 카사블랑카. 영화에서 나오는 노래 As Time Goes By

 

이 영화의 주제가는 1931년 Hupfield 의 시를 그대로 차용한 것이다. 

이 시는 결혼(사랑) 에 대한 의미를 잘 표현하고 있다.

 

 

다음은 영화 대사 일부.

그날 밤 릭은 위스키를 연거푸 마시며 진한 외로움을 느낀다. 릭은 샘에게 말한다.
"Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine."
세상의 하고많은 도시의 하고많은 술집 중에 그녀는 내 술집으로 들어왔어.
(그리고는 샘에게 '그 노래'(As Time Goes By)를 불러달라고 말한다.)
"If she can stand it, I can. Play it."
만일 그녀가 그 노래를 견딜 수 있다면 나도 그럴 수 있어. 연주해 줘.
(위스키에 취하면서 파노라마처럼 파리에서의 옛 추억이 떠오른다.
릭은 아름다운 일자를 바라보며 건배를 하곤 했다.)

"Here's looking at you, kid."
Richard, I cannot go with you or ever see you again. You must not ask why. Just believe that I love you. Go, my darling, and God bless you.

 

릭, 당신과 함께 갈 수도 당신을 다시는 볼 수도 없어요. 이유는 묻지 마셔야 해요. 다만 당신을 사랑한다는 것을 믿어 주세요. 안녕히 가세요. 신의 은총이 함께 하기를.

우리는 언제나 파리의 추억을 간직할 거야.

 

눈물 가득한 일자의 아름다운 눈동자에 대고 릭은 술잔을 든다.

릭이 보여주는 반전의 묘미는 안개낀 공항에서 떠나기를 주저하며 릭의 곁에 남겠다고 고집하는 일자에게 "이 미친 세상에서 동시에 세 사람이 행복해질 수는 없는 법"이라며 그녀를 떠나 보낸다.

 

Rick : I'm saying it because it's true. Inside of us, we both know you belong with Victor. You're part of his work, the thing that keeps him going. If that plane leaves the ground and you're not with him, you'll regret it. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life.
Ilsa : But what about us?
Rick : We'll always have Paris. We didn't have, we, we lost it until you came to Casablanca. We got it back last night.
Ilsa : When I said I would never leave you.
Rick : And you never will. But I've got a job to do, too. Where I'm going, you can't follow. What I've got to do, you can't be any part of. Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that. Now, now... Here's looking at you kid.
