“배부른 돼지보다는 배고픈 인간이 되는 것이 낫고, 만족해하는 바보보다 불만에 가득찬 소크라테스가 되는 것이 낫다.  바보나 돼지가 여기에 대해 다른 생각을 가졌다 해도, 그들은 문제의 한면에 대해서만 알 뿐이지만, 인간과 소크라테스는 양쪽을 모두 안다는 것이 다른 점이다.
