writing a story

by 추홍희블로그 2015. 8. 14.

Ruby-the eldest and the most posh princess anyone could have ever known. She is very fashionable, loves shopping and make-up. Tries to look her best all the time-especially when Ruben, the handsome prince is around .

Harmony-you’ll probably think that she’s the peace maker of the family. That’s totally wrong. She’s very active and sporty, the fast runner in the royal family and also plays merry little tunes on her silver flute with her younger sister .

Yasha-she acts more of a peace maker. Ruby and Yasha are the opposite. Yasha stays home and does chores while Ruby is out and about. She cares for the trees and animals and even has her own unicorn who she rescued .

Gardena-like Yasha, Gardena is always around nature and cares for it. Gardena is usually out-not shopping but looking after the plants in the royal gardens. Unknown to her sisters, Gardena found a lost pixie and trying to find its home .

Ortearia-is not posh but beautiful. She moves gracefully and isn’t clumsy. Underwater she is a perfect ballerina. That’s why she’s won so many awards and prizes. The water is her favourite but one day becomes a total hate .

Sapphire-her name might relate to Ruby but she defiantly isn’t like her. Unlike Ortearia, Sapphire isn’t that graceful and has a hard time doing it. Her clumsiness makes her wonder whether she’s part of the royal family at all .

Anderneisha-or just call her Ander for short. Ander is a very pretty young princess. Being only 7, Ander is pretty smart to know how to play the flute. Harmony taught her how. They often play together in concerts, performances and shows .

Violet-she’s so cute you could have mistaken her for a violet. With her violet dress on she is basically camouflaged. As the youngest and brightest princess, Violet likes to explore and comes home with interesting flowers and plants .

Queen Clovelltry-a gentle, loving queen who rules over the land of Rainbowactica. Ruby is to follow her footsteps and take up her role of being queen of a whole land .

Tastriant-was the unicorn that Yasha found. His gleaming horn and shining coat glimmer in the moonlight. He’s grateful for Yasha’s rescue and needs to return the favour.

Yixie-is bouncy, excited and full of fun. Gardena finds it hard to keep her patient but before she was as quiet as a rock. It was because of a rainstorm that Yixie was separated from Pixie Paradise and all her family and friends .

“Hey! Sapphire! Catch!” Sapphire caught the golden ball.

She threw the ball back to Harmony with the soft fling of her hand.

It was the day that Ruby, her oldest sister, would be crowned the queen after their mother.

Ever since being told that she was the queen after Clovelltry, Ruby had been jumping, all excited, to wait for the day to be crowned queen.

However, her sisters didn’t quite approve of this. They thought that Ruby wasn’t good enough to be queen. To them, she was a spoilt, make-up and shopping lover princess. In the end, Ruby promised to act more princess-like so that she could be queen. They all agreed so Ruby’s special day had come at last.

Preparing the day was a whole different matter. Food, decorations, dresses, lights and things had to be ordered for the day. Also the crown that Ruby would wear would be a problem. Clovelltry wouldn’t be able to organize that, on top of everything else she needed to get.

Since the people of Rainbowactica were not experts in forging, Clovelltry had asked the king of Richernham in the next kingdom, to forge the crown for them. The king had kindly said yes only if Clovelltry would give him the jewels for the crown and it was to be delivered to them in a week’s time.

Richernham was a kingdom on the coast and Rainbowactica was further inland. Fields and forests were in between them. They traded often-for Richernham’s water and skill and for Rainbowactica’s jewels and materials.

Rainbowactica was lucky to have such a helpful kingdom near by.

They were lucky enough so that they could have the special ceremony.

Ruby’s sisters were supposed to help with the preparations but they found it boring and ran away to play ‘Catch’ in the royal gardens instead.

At least some of them were.

“Saph!” Harmony threw the ball with her right hand.

As Sapphire caught the ball, Harmony called out, “Hey! Yasha! Why don’t you and Gardena stop making garlands and play with us? You too, Ortearia.”

“What about Anderneisha and Violet?” asked Sapphire. She didn’t want to leave them out.

“They’re asleep behind the rose bush,” Harmony replied.

“That’s why we’re not playing, so we can make them comfortable,” Yasha whispered. “Don’t wake them up.”

“I’ll play,” Ortearia said. She didn’t need to whisper. Her voice is already quiet. “Catch? Isn’t it?”

Harmony nodded and passed the ball to her.

They through the ball around a couple of times before they heard the familiar footsteps of high-heels.

Ortearia had just thrown the ball to Harmony when Ruby strode in looking posh and beautiful, like always.

Her long gown of red touched the ground and you could barely see her pink slippers. With lips the colour of her dress and eyes and hair   the colour of chestnuts you would have thought she was a beautiful princess-if she wasn’t frowning and had her hands on her hips.

“Where have you been?!” she scolded, grabbing the arms of Anderneisha and Violet.

They woke up instantly and started crying. Ruby rolled her eyes.

“Total cry babies,” she mumbled letting them into the safe arms of Yasha and Gardena.

“Maybe they wouldn’t be if you’d be more polite to them,” Harmony said frowning. She dropped the ball.

“You’re not meant to be out here anyway,” Ruby said producing scroll and rolling it out. “Plus, you have jobs.”

“No one said so,” Harmony snatched the scroll off Ruby. “You just want to get us ready to become your personal slaves, don’t you? That’s why you want to be queen.”

“No I don’t,” Ruby yelled.

“You so do.”

“No I don’t.”

“You so do.”

“Don’t.”

“Do.”

“Don’t!”

“Do.”

“Don’t!!!!!!!”

“Ha.” Harmony threw the scroll over to the other side of the royal gardens. “Fetch, dog or else . . .”

“You’re picking that up!”

Beautiful bird

From above

Take that scroll

Yes, good dove.” Harmony pointed her finger at the sky.

With a flash of orange glitter, a dove appeared and flew over to the place where the scroll was. It picked it up and hovered in the sky, waiting for instructions.

“Fly with it

Don’t listen to what she said

Fly with it

Further ahead.” The dove flew off in the direction of the coast.

“No!!” Ruby cried. She looked at Harmony angrily. “You’ll pay for this!”

“It’s only a piece of paper,” Harmony shrugged and bent down to pick up her ball.

Before she did, Ruby scooped it up and threw it into the old garden well.

“Ruby!” Harmony shouted. “That’s my best ball!” She ran to the well and watched it slowly sink.

“I told you, you will pay!” Ruby sneered.

Then she rose into the air, not needing wings, and hovered after the dove.

Harmony slumped to the ground. She covered her face so her sisters wouldn’t see the tears forming in her eyes.

“That wasn’t only my best ball,” she wept. “Mother gave me the responsibility to look after it. It was a magical tracking device!”

“It’s a what?” asked Sapphire.

“Ruby knows it,” Harmony ignored the question. She didn’t like the answer. “That’s why she’s been picking on me ever since I was 7.”

“You’re 13 now and Ruby is 15, so she’s done that for . . . 6 years!” Anderneisha is the smarty pants.

“Why would she do that though? She wouldn’t care if it was a ball,” Gardena keeps a close watch on everyone so she knows what’s going on.

“Then what’s the story? I mean, I was only 1 and Violet wasn’t even born yet!” Anderneisha confessed.

“Please?” Violet pleaded. She was fully awake now. Violet often sleeps but she is only awake if there is a really, good, bad, sad or happy tale that someone is telling. Like the tale Harmony refused to tell. Or will she. . .

“Oh, alright, here’s the tale,“  Harmony started to recite the tale that she hated but did it for the sake of her sisters.

“As it was my 7th birthday . . .” Harmony explained that because she was old enough, her  mother had given her the responsibility to look after the only magical tracking device left in the kingdom.

Ruby was away at an important meeting and wasn’t able to attend. Clovelltry had to then give the job to Harmony.

When Ruby came back and realised what had happened she was furious! She wanted all the important jobs and things to herself so she could prove herself worthy of being queen. Ruby then had promised that she would get that ball away from Harmony, just at the right time . . . so Harmony would really get in trouble.

Harmony knew this because she had heard Ruby mumble this to herself.
