안식의 기도 <serenity prayer>

미국의 신학자 라인홀드 니버(Reinhold Niebuhr)의 평온의 기도(The Serenity Prayer).

 

God, give us the grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed,

courage to change the things which should be changed,

and the wisdom to distinguish one from the other."

 

“하느님, 변화될 수 없는 것은 평온하게 받아들일 수 있는 은혜를 주소서.

변화되어야만 하는 것은 변화시킬 수 있는 용기를 주소서.

그리고 이 두 가지를 구분할 수 있는 지혜를 주소서.”

 

 

God grant me the SERENITY

to accept the things

I cannot change;

COURAGE to change the

things I can; and the

WISDOM to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the

pathway to peace;

Taking, as He did, this

sinful world as it is,

not as I would have it:

Trusting that He will make

all things right if I

surrender to His Will;

That I may be reasonably happy

in this life,and supremely

happy with Him forever in

the next. Amen
